Welcome to 21 la Vallée, a charming B&B located between Strasbourg and Saverne

21 la Vallée is a nicely renovated U-shaped Alsatian farmhouse at the edge of the quiet village of Kuttolsheim, which lies in between the historical city of Strasbourg and the lovely town of Saverne. This typical half-timbered property, painted in light grey and cream colours, surrounds a paved courtyard decorated with flowers and other decorations. Opposite the main building where the owners live, there are 3 charming semi-detached cottages with their own private patios where guests can enjoy breakfast by good weather and relax during their stay.

Our Cottages

All our tastefully furnished small and independent cottages have a pretty outside seating area where guests can enjoy the flowers in the paved courtyard as well as breakfast in warm weather. Wifi access is available everywhere and there is a kettle as well as a small fridge for the guests’ convenience during their stay. Please note that, for safety reasons, cooking meals in the guesthouses is not allowed but you may ask for a picnic or a cold meal or you may heat up a meal in our breakfast room microwave, if you like. Occasionally and especially at the weekend, your hosts may invite you to join them for a ‘table d’hôte’ dinner at a fixed price. We have a baby bed and baby high chair for you if desired.

Etoile

(4-5 people)

This split-level accommodation is situated at the entrance and is ideal for a family of four or five or for two couples. There is only one step up to the cottage and so it is suitable for people with limited physical abilities. It consists of two separate sleeping areas: one with a double bed on the ground floor and the other with single beds on the mezzanine, a small and cosy living area, a newly renovated bathroom on the ground floor with separate WC.

Lune

This cosy and romantic split-level cottage is situated right opposite the main house and is ideal for one person or a couple. On the ground floor, there is a bathroom/WC and a small living area with a table and chairs as well as a wardrobe under the stairs. The stairs up to the bedroom are a little steep, so we recommend this cottage to people who are agile. The comfortable double bed as well as the sofa divan on the upper level are always much appreciated by our guests.

Soleil

(4 people)

This newly-renovated split-level accommodation is ideal for couples, or families with young children and babies, or even a group of close friends, as its bright and spacious sleeping area is on the first floor. There is a small sitting/dining area with TV, fridge and coffee machine and a fully equipped bathroom/WC with shower on the ground floor. Its soft blue and beige colours and its elephant theme make it a unique setting.

Local Tourism

Our beautiful bucolic region of the Bas-Rhin is a region for nature lovers, photographers, dog owners, painters and people who love hiking, biking and boating. Although it is less well-known for sightseeing than its neighbour to the south the Haut Rhin, there are many quaint villages, a good number of organic farms with local produce, vineyards, ancient castles and ruins and interesting cities to explore.

Your Hosts

Patrick Eschbach and Caroline Huerlimann are the owners of 21 La Vallée and speak a number of languages between them, of which fluent French, English and German.

As a native “Alsatian”, Patrick will be happy to advise you on what to do do in the area, where to go and what to see, whether it is on foot, by bike or by car. He will gladly recommend local restaurants to suit your tastes and can also advise you about where to buy the famous Alsatian wine, which he knows a lot about.

On the other hand Caroline, as a dual national from England and Switzerland who also speaks Italian, Swiss German as well as Arabic, will be in charge of your comfort during your stay and will make sure you at least start your day with a varied and satisfying breakfast, accompanied by self-made jams and local organic farmer products. She will do everything she can to make your stay an agreeable and memorable one.
